Save the Mary River Community Meetings

By • Feb 9th, 2009 • Category: News

Hi Friends of the Mary River,

What are the state Govt plans for the Mary Valley in 2009?

The Labor State Government’s position is full steam ahead on approvals to dam the Mary River at Traveston Crossing and the connecting pipeline NPI stage 2 (early 2009). QWI is putting together an environmental mitigation plan for its projects in the Mary Valley and new Government policies are being pushed through. Independent studies conducted for Environment Minister Peter Garrett have condemned many EIS claims. What can we do to force the state Government to come clean on its plans for the Mary Valley? Get involved:

Everyone is welcome to Public Meetings to be held at 7pm:

·         Kandanga Hall Mon 9th Feb,

·         Ridgewood Hall Tues 10th Feb,

·         Imbil RSL Hall Wed 11th Feb and

·         Kenilworth CWA Hall Thurs 12th Feb.

·         Cooran Hall Tues 17th Feb

Hope you can make it to one of the meetings to meet the new committee and share information.

Regards
Glenda Pickersgill
President
