Quolls

There are two subspecies of spotted-tailed quoll: the northern quoll and the southern spotted tailed quoll. Under the Nature Conservation Act 1992 the northern is listed as endangered and the southern is vulnerable. The EPBC Act 1999 lists both subspecies as nationally endangered.

Rudd fast-forwards $500m energy fund

A $500 million renewable energy fund to kick-start clean power plants across Australia will be brought forward, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd says.

Powerlink advises the draft EIS will not be released before Christmas.  When it is released the consultation period will be 6 weeks and not the standard 3 weeks.
